I moved from my tax advisor to mika in September 2025 and I am very happy with that decision. Trust matters to me when it comes to bookkeeping and the Jahresabschluss (German annual financial statements), and mika has earned it. The numbers make sense to me, and I like the approval workflow, for the VAT return for example, because I get every position broken down and can follow it. Everything runs like clockwork, and the mika team has always been able to answer my questions through the to-do dialogues in the app. I would especially like to thank Lisa, who always replies very quickly and helps me with my questions. Thank you Lisa :) The platform improves regularly and I am glad about the many features that have been added over the past months, such as the new BWA and SuSa views. I write my invoices straight out of the tool as well. In terms of value for money it is unbeatable. For a sole trader or a small business owner mika is an absolute gamechanger, because I get the bookkeeping quality I am used to at a fraction of what a tax advisor costs. I think what the mika team has built is really great!

As the managing director of a young GmbH (German limited company), day to day bookkeeping was for a long time the classic time sink next to the actual business. mika has changed that fundamentally. Receipts are recognised automatically and posted correctly (SKR03 is properly supported), the VAT return is prepared before I even think about it, and in the end I only have to approve it. What convinces me most is the combination of AI speed and human control: the ongoing review by trained bookkeepers gives me the confidence that there will be no nasty surprises at year end. That makes the handover between bookkeeping and the tax advisor seamless. Another real benefit in everyday German GmbH life is the Finanzamt (tax office) translator: letters from the authorities are explained in plain language, including a concrete recommendation on what to do. And the fact that the data sits encrypted on German servers in line with the GDPR was not a nice to have for us as a company with high compliance standards, it was a requirement. Bottom line: clear to-dos instead of chaos, noticeably less effort, full control. A clear recommendation for any GmbH without its own finance department. Five stars.

We founded a GmbH (German limited company) on the side and almost despaired looking for tax advice. Nine out of ten turned us down (too small) and the ones who took us on wanted a lot of money for it. Then we found Mika. You get a personal onboarding and customer support is extremely good (answers always under 24h so far). But you rarely need it. The AI does practically everything; if you can move files from one folder to another, you can use Mika. You can also ask the AI all sorts of tax questions that give you orientation (not tax advice in the proper sense). For special questions there are human bookkeepers who check everything again. Much cheaper than every other tax practice we spoke to, and ideal for our purposes. Communication with the Finanzamt (tax office) works without a hitch, we got everything back exactly as predicted, and no problems with the Jahresabschluss (annual financial statements) either. One caveat perhaps: we are a two person online business. We have no staff costs, no warehousing, no sales partners and so on. How Mika handles more complex problems I do not know, but the features for it are definitely there. I can recommend Mika with a clear conscience to any young GmbH or start-up looking for software that does their bookkeeping reliably and in line with the law. And if @Mika reads this: please keep it up. Without you our life would be a lot more complicated.
